IS THE CURTAIN S-UL RATED?

Yes, the curtains are UL rated for 1 and 2 hours at 1000 F, and complies as a Fire Protective Curtain under UL 10D. The curtains can also carry the UL S-Label.

WHY IS THE FIRE CURTAIN BETTER THAN A SHUTTER?

The curtain is light weight in design and can be retracted with an up-button. The up button works with its own battery backed-up power supply.

CAN WE INSTALL THIS FIRE & SMOKE SAFETY EQUIPMENT IN OUR UPPER FLOOR CONDO UNIT?

Yes, we can install smoke or fire curtains on the inside of your doorway, giving your condo enhanced protection.

IS THE SMOKE OR FIRE CURTAIN UL RATED?

Yes, under UL 10D.

WHAT IS NFPA92B?

NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) is the applicable code for smoke evacuation for a multi-level atrium. Any atrium over 2 floors requires a smoke extraction system. The smoke curtain is an integral component of such a system that allows for the reduction of make-up air, allowing for less bulky air extractors on the roof, and less cost. The use of smoke curtains actually reduces the overall cost of a smoke extraction system. Further, bulky extractors are too large for back-up generators. Therefore, the use of smoke curtains along with reverse operation of the roof top units under generator power is the preferred implementation for multi-level atria.
